Custom Engineered Window & Door Stops for Fenestration Solution | (Window and Door) Molded Extruded Specialties - Div. of Frank Novak & Sons, Inc. recently built a series of window and door screen stops for a customer based in New York City. Engineered as a solution for our client's fenestration problem, these stops were designed to limit exposure to impact, sunlight, sprinklers, rain water, snow, tree sap, acid rain, freezing temperatures, and extreme heat. Constructed from 6063 aluminum material, these parts were finished with a color-matched paint. Optional heat treating and anodizing was also performed on these window and door components for added compressive strength. Before we began full production, we provided our clients with CAD designed prototypes of these components for approval. We then employed a wide variety of manufacturing processes to construct our client's window and door screen stops. Some of these machining operations included CNC welding and wire forming, plastic extrusion molding, Swiss milling, extrusion bending, and fine blanking. Upholding tight tolerances, we were able to cut the length of these stops to precise dimensional specifications, as well as bend and stretch all material components to its proper form. These window and door components featured UV protection and a custom injection molded corner key. They also met NFRC energy performance ratings, International Energy Conservation codes (IECC), and ASHRAE 90.1-89 and CABO standards. Our window and door screen stops fulfilled all client product specifications and expectations for quality, and provided a comprehensive solution to our client's fenestration problems. |
